A VERY rare Lugosi Dracula image. This was from an “undated closeup of a torn print in a photo album of unidentified ownership. It’s a great stealthy profile pose, and upon close examination there are signs that Universal’s still photographer Roman Freulich used a crosshatch darkroom screen in the printing (the same texturization can be seen in at least one other Lugosi portrait shot against the same white backdrop). An original copy, if ever found, would be one of the rarest Lugosi Dracula photos ever.” ~ from author David J. Skal’s archive, via vincentleonardprice.
